OVERVIEW - June 21st 2026
This hypothesis 'Towards a Universal Knowledge Theory', and the introductory video's and podcast below, have been created by Ron Young, founder of Knowledge Associates International, based in Cambridge UK.
What is knowledge? There are several very different approaches, definitions, philosophies / epistemologies of knowledge, that have been developed over the centuries by ancient knowledge philosophers, academics and modern knowledge management professionals and practitioners. There is enough 'knowledge about knowledge' to be able to conduct meaningful knowledge driven practices as individuals, teams and organisations. And some very useful international management standards have been developed for increased knowledge productivity, knowledge creation, innovation, and AI, but we still need to better understand the fundamental origins and essence of knowledge that underpins everything known.
Ron Young posits that to deeply understand knowledge we also need to explore both the universal and the quantum dimensions. His work with knowledge over the past 30 years, with intuitive, intellectual and experiential knowledge, and the knowledge and AI driven economy, has led him to a hypothesis for a new knowledge theory. This hypothesis does not claim to be an agreed common view of Knowledge Associates companies, researchers, consultants and thought leaders, but rather, it represents his personal research, thoughts and practices which he now presents for a dialogue with colleagues, scholars, scientists and seekers alike . The hypothesis deeply challenges many established views about knowledge and asks us to consider a new knowledge paradigm.
"knowledge is not only a human possession but a universal property of reality and is the very language of the universe, expressed in patterns, network relationships, memory and isomorphic structures"
"intuition, imagination and creative intelligence are not marginal to knowledge, but central"
"we are participating in a universal expression of knowledge, a universe alive with knowing"
"we will listen to the ancient voices that already intuited it, we will explore the scientific discoveries that echo it, we will see how AI mirrors it"
Below is a 2:40 minute introduction. The video is presented by Ron Young's AI digital twin 'Ron2', which is connected to underlying AI models and knowledge bases. These emerging AI tools are empowering organisations to rapidly improve their systems for critical knowledge creation, retention and application.
